● Establishing emergency backup populations for threatened species, including critically endangered species, when defined as necessary following rigorous evaluation by multiple stakeholders and working groups.
● Establishing new field projects for orphan species.
● Supporting and connecting partner projects.
● Contributing to vital reintroduction efforts.
● Conducting evaluations for ex-situ functions of all endangered Atlantic Rainforest bird species, in partnership with CPSG. We have been tasked with this function by the Brazilian government.
● Conducting conservation planning workshops for species and projects with the support of CPSG Worldwide and CPSG Brazil.
● Providing training in the use of key conservation tools and gold-standard methodology.
● Create, and support work towards regional Red Lists for individual Brazilian states. Aside from collating vital data, these state Red Lists give many species or species sub-populations vital protections under the law.
● Continuous monitoring of Atlantic Rainforest bird records - Species Watch.
