What are Parque das Aves and the Claravis Foundation doing?

Establishing emergency backup populations for threatened species, including critically endangered species, when defined as necessary following rigorous evaluation by multiple stakeholders and working groups.

Establishing new field projects for orphan species.

Supporting and connecting partner projects.

Contributing to vital reintroduction efforts.

Conducting evaluations for ex-situ functions of all endangered Atlantic Rainforest bird species, in partnership with CPSG. We have been tasked with this function by the Brazilian government.

Conducting conservation planning workshops for species and projects with the support of CPSG Worldwide and CPSG Brazil.

Providing training in the use of key conservation tools and gold-standard methodology.

Create, and support work towards regional Red Lists for individual Brazilian states. Aside from collating vital data, these state Red Lists give many species or species sub-populations vital protections under the law.
